Tips for the players and advice to the author

A short and simple, yet a nice game.

The medals were integrated smoothly since they also encourage dynamic gameplay, yet none of them is too hard to acquire, therefore no joy will be lost to frustrating hours in vain.

Yet the author said the knight is a dude... I'm not homophobic or something, but imo "he" just doesn't look like a tranny^^

Another thing that could use a change is the ambiguous description of the "Juicey Kisses"-medal. Sure, it's name indicates what you have to do, yet the concise description lets one think that magic jumps / "farts" work as well. The wording was maybe used to paraphrase the medal title, but i prefered something like "Finish the boss off with a kiss of death".
Therefore, all players which are reading this part: keep in mind that you'll have to jump and spread kisses rather than jumping magic for the final blow.

Now the tips:
If anybody is wondering what this ground spin is about:
No, it doesn't require any level, quite similar to the air spin you just have to mash the attack button, but in this case simply stay on the ground - and hit the robot, which is the reason why most players don't notice this type of attack.
Yet the boss won't allow you to simply do this combo. If you are going for the "Dreidelpower"-medal, i advice to level up to level 2 until he starts firing bullets, and then deflect three bullets to him to get him dizzy at first. (This will also grant you the "TKO"-medal. and remember, "deflect" means correct timing for the block, if you just keep the S button pressed the bullets will fly above the robot)

If you want the "Time Attack"-medal, here's an easy method for beating him quickly:
Use the air spin most of the time, and approach the boss from a slight angular in order to evade his punches.
Then, after you've finished your air spin, turn towards the boss and immediately hit the block button. You'll be slightly pushed away, but now you can savely walk straight towards him and start a second air spin. Rinse and repeat for great justice, and this medal will soon be yours.
There are some other things you have to take care of later, though. The saw can be blocked like the punches, and you can widely ignore his robot spawns. It's adviceable to take them out while he is doing his spin attack, though.
Oh yeah, about that one: get away from him as soon as you notice that he starts, but don't move to far away, while he is at this state you should damage him with kisses.Although they only give 5 points, these do a lot of damage.

I didn't make "Tilt" and "Time Attack" in one, but you should be able to get both in one run despite making use of the "sweet damage" if you do everything correctly (For example evade fainting, since this does not only take a lot of time and your chance for the medal, but a large amount of points as well)

MindChamber responds:

thanks for the review and tips, and I agree, Kiss of death would probably have been a better description.

A nice challenge, but overall too hard

I liked the design and music, that has given the game a nice old-school gameboy flavour :)

The story was also entertaining, although the medal regrettably took away the twist ending :/

The general gameplay also had some variety due to the different level layouts and its hazards, or the "run!"-levels at the end of each stage.

But the difficulty is too hard!
Some of the later levels really weren't fun at all. You had to examine every little part of the level before you could successfully make it, and even then it took you many tries.
Sure, some users may enjoy such a challenge, but most others don't. In my opinion games are meant to be fun, therefore you shouldn't have to try the same level for too long because that really takes away the joy. They certainly shouldn't be a cakewalk, but frustrating levels are even worse.
5/3 for example with the bats and these Podoboo-like creatures / bubbles wasn't fun at all, you had to do a dozen life-threatening jumps in a row there.

I also noticed a bug in 2/5. In case you don't reply to this review, i'll let you notice per PM as you desired:
On the very right, you can jump on the block above the last lightning. if you jump to the blocks on the left which restrict the other lightnings' pathes, you'll be able to jump on the top border of the level.

I was really missing a reset-button at this part, since there wasn't any.
I had to refresh the page and start again by using the latest password i acquired.
Unfortunately the game doesn't remind your past progress, therefore i had to finish most levels again in order to acquire the "Clumsy Adventurer" medal.

Overall i give you 5/10.
As aforementioned, the difficulty really ripped off most fun for me.

My criticism and gameplay hints for all medals

[CRITICISM PART]
a nice sequel to the other parts, and just as the predecessors, it is not too easy yet requires some thinking in the later levels, since you won't succeed without a strategic walking path.

i already played it about a year ago somewhere else, glad to find it polished up with some medals here again on newgrounds.

the music of the game was also alright.

yet there are still some things i disliked:
-having to click the mouse rather than a key on the keyboard, for example spacebar, was a bit annoying.
on the other hand, it was possibly even redundant since you just could keep the mouse pressed without any drawback.
-you can fastly click through the conversation, yet you can neither skip entire cutscenes nor the introduction scenes to the new chapters, which is a bit annoying, especially if you know them already.
-you had to get a feeling for the sight of view from the teacher, since its colors fade with growing distance, although the teacher will catch you immediately if you get amidst the faded part as if you'd run right into him.

but all in all, it had a good gameplay!

the passwords are also a useful game feature.

[HINT PART]
in case you are interested, here they are:
chapter 2: geekfoundation
chapter 3: donalex
chapter 4: windowchecker
chapter 5: classroomrunner
chapter 6: psychedman
chapter 7: fisherlike
chapter 8: boycoot
chapter 9: cellularman
chapter 10: theexuse
chapter 11: crash
for those aiming on getting the medals, keep in mind that using passwords will prevent you from getting the "future gratuade" or the "perfectionist" medals.

it's useful in case you never played through all levels before, or don't plan even plan on doing so, yet want to get the easy medals.
those are the following chapters that upon completition automatically grant one:
(tuturial - learner)
(chapter 1 - "cheater")
chapter 3 - "bully"
chapter 7 - "veteran"
chapter 8 - "one slick kid"

additionally, in chapter 3, you are able to get the "pervert" medal. as the icon implies, you have to stand next to the cuple for a few seconds in order to unlock it.

the "perfectionist" medal also gives the game a new challenging aspect, as you have to do all chapters in a row without being caught once.
getting it is quite tough, but if you're trying to get this achievement,
i've got some hints for you:
-at best start the flash in two seperate tabs (or windows) - a "testing tab" and a "medal tab", then get through the levels simultaneously:
in one window, you "practice" the accordant level until you've found a certain way to beat it, then you switch to the second tab and play that level again as you did before- this way you'll likely succeed on the first try.
proceed like this through all chapters.
important: don't click "continue" in the "medal tab" until you really wan't to playt the next level! otherwise it will start, and although you are save on your seat, the teacher will already start walking his path - which doesn't repeat in the later levels, making it impossible for you to win if you get from your seat too late.
the advantage with this method is that you don't have to know all the levels by heart.
-the last two levels are very easy:
in the tenth one, move right to the geek as soon as the teacher stops watching you, then simply keep watching the test until the bar is filled, and get back to your seat. during this, the teacher will shortly "glance" at you, but don't worry, this won't cause you to be caught.
the eleventh chapter has a likely unintended feature, since you'll still be able to cheat from the geek's test after the teacher has stopped walking in the classroom. to beat the chapter, simply move to the left upper corner near the cupboard and wait until the teacher stands next to his seat only keeps watching from the left to the right. cautiously move down to the geek when the teacher's view moves away from him and fastly move upwards again. repeat this about ten times, then simply return to your seat.

i hope that helped, now good luck and have fun playing the game! :)

Some hints for easier gameplay:

The first minutes were quite tough, this head quite owns you if you don't know how to react.

But i made you a little walkthrough for this game.
here are some hints for easier victory:

Every strike in a row gives you one additional point. That means:
1st strike = 1 point
2nd strike = 2 points
3rd strike = 3 points
ect
Therefore, try to keep up the chain to get the fastest level up possible.

on top of this, there is energy charging up while you are fighting. convert it into an attack by keeping the A-button pressed. unleashing it by realeasing the button. a full charged bar can be quite devasting, also dependant on your level.
you will hit most when releasing this attack with a sligtht distance from tom, then it will hit him all the time until it vanishes.

he has two attacks he will use in general:
the "beard-spike":
when you are near him. you can simply dodge this one since you will notice when he prepares that attack. if you are have the right timing, you can dodge this attack without breaking your combo chain.
the "nosal-hair-propeller:"
he will only use this attack if you are standing "inside" him. therefore you should in general only attack him with a slight distance.

The movement of the head is the following:
flies to the left side of the map
flies to the left and starts laser beam in mid-air to the right
flies to the ground and starts laser beam on the ground to the right
flies to the right side of the map
flies to the right and starts laser beam in mid-air to the left
flies to the ground and starts laser beam on the ground to the left
flies in the middle up the air and throws with bread
reapeat.

between these steps, he won't try to return to his original position, that means you can strike him away from his actual position.
you can make use of this on two parts:
when he tries to get to the border to fire his laser, try to hit him a several times to the other side. he'll be thrown backwards a bit, but keep moving against this direction. this will give you some free additional hits where he won't even use an attack.
when he starts firing his laser in mid-air you can exploit this fact best: go to the border of the map and strike him to the middle. this way, he will fire his laser on the other side, and you can repeat hitting him meanwhile.

if you proceed accordingly, you will have reached level 3 or 4 when he finally transforms into his skull form.

this skull will keep hovering in mid-air from the left to the right, using one single attack - yet a tough one, since he fires flames in every direction. if you're standing in the right angle from him, none of them will hit you, though.

beating him with level 4 should be quite easy actually, since you will still hit him with your weapon from the ground just by swinging. make use of your energy beams as well, and he shouldn't be that much of a thread.

evading the tomes for the medal is quite annoying though, since you will often incidentally hit one of them.
if you notice them standing in your way when starting a game, you might want to reset the game by pressing R.

Not too easy

The last boss was incredibly difficult imo, you have to find a method to approach him easier.

Sad endling, kinda

Nice game, yet i needed about as many trials for getting the 6000feet than completing everything else^^
